We have had a very busy time at pre school, we have been doing some extreme craft, using large junk modelling to make a wall to paint, the children really enjoyed choosing different colours and mixing them, this encouraged lots of lovely language about which colours they were using and what colours they would like to make. The children created a variety of pictures and patterns and shared the resources together.
We have been observing the garden, watching the flowers turn into fruit and vegetables, we are starting to see a few runner beans and some tiny tomatoes, but the strawberries have already been eaten by the birds. This has enabled lovely chatter about life cycles and what the birds need to live, as well as the plants.
We have been using lots of water in the garden as it has been so warm, using all of our water play equipment, from boats to jugs, to sealife with Peppa Pig! This encourages hand eye coordination and sharing rescources.
We have also been using the field, from obstacle courses to playing with footballs, this encourages physical movement in different ways, and encourages coordination and stability when attempting to balance.
We have had lots of fun with the small world, with the trains, toot toot cars, Peppa Pig and Paw Patrol being the favourites for the children, this encourages conversations about real world experiences and allows the children to work together to create a track.
