Week Beginning 10th March 2025

We have had another fun filled fortnight at pre school, we have continued to plant our seeds, and some plants have grown enough to replant. The children have been really engaged with the growing process, and we have introduced garden helpers to assist in the daily watering and taking care of what is growing, and finding lots of insects and bugs along the way. This has encouraged lots of conversations about what we are growing, what we like and dislike, and how big each plant might get!

As the weather is getting slowly better, we have been out in the garden a lot more, the children have been very engaged in the sand, we have buried treasure to find, had buckets and spades to dig and fill, and have used the trucks and diggers to transport the sand from one tray to another.

The children have really liked the group activities, expressing themselves with paint mixing and making collages, this has encouraged talk between the children about what they are doing and why, how they can change it and showing the younger ones what they are doing in their own craft.

We have also been playing lots of games, from Go Fish to Shopping List, this enables turn taking and waiting patiently, and encourages the children to remember what item they are looking for and listen to their peers in the game, showing good recall and recognition of items required.

We all dressed up in our favourite characters for World Book Day, from The Tiger that Came to Tea, to Woody, to superheroes, and discussed our favourite books and stories. We made pancakes for Shrove Tuesday, which the children really enjoyed making and then eating, and we are making special cards for Mothers Day.
