Week beginning 11th December 2023

This week we have continued our build up to Christmas, we have made Christmas Tree biscuits, made different types of festive bunting, Christmas wreaths, and on Monday, we had our annual Christmas dinner together, with chicken, roast potatoes, peas, carrots, sweetcorn, yorkshire puddings, gravy and brussel sprouts, with a Christmas cracker! This was well received by the children, who had a really good try at everything even if they didnt like it, well done everyone!

We have been really engaged with the small world activities, the fairy tale toys, the Weebles and Peppa Pig being the favourites this week, the children have been chatting about what Peppa Pig and Bluey would like for Christmas, and whether they have seen Santa yet. We have been using Alexa to ask how many sleeps until Christmas, and to ask for our favourite festive songs.

We braved the snowy weather on Friday and the children loved making footprints in the snow, and trying to catch the snowflakes as they fell. This enabled lots of lovely conversations about the weather, what weather we like, what we don't like and what we should wear when it is cold, warm or when it rains.

We have been practicing really hard for our nativity, the children have really grasped the songs and actions and are looking forward to performing in front of their loved ones, we will be having a big party, with Father Christmas bearing gifts afterwards!

We break up for Christmas this Friday, the 15th, and return to Pre School on Monday 8th January, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all!
