This week we have had lots of fun outside, with lots of sand and water play, using the brushes and buckets to paint the garden. We have our first carrot ready, and Woody was eager to eat the top! We have have been finding lots of beetles and snails in the garden, each snail is called Gary! This encourages care and concern for living things and our environment, and discussion about what we notice in our own gardens and the wider world.
We had such fun last week with the roadway that we extended the activity and used the channels and tyres to extend our route, this enables the children to negotiate and work together as a team.
We have enjoyed the jigsaws and the magnetic boards, and we have been drawing tiny pictures, using the scissors to cut small shapes and then make our pictures on them. This encourages fine motor skills and hand eye coordination.
We had ice activities with a variety of animals and people stuck in the ice, the children really enjoyed smashing the ice to save them!
