We have been having so much fun at Pre School, the children have been really involved in the planting and repotting of the variety of fruit, vegetables, herbs and flowers for our new garden, we have been having lovely conversations about watching them grow, and showing care for the plants and flowers, and the creatures that live within them. this encourages conversations about growth, decay and change. We have also been feeding the birds from our feeders and trying really hard to identify them before they fly away!
The children who are off to school have been practicing their jolly phonics and are doing really well at recognising the letter, the action and the sound. We are also doing physical activity sessions on the field, with assault courses, throwing, catching, running and lots of jumping over and squeezing under the equipment, enabling freedom and confidence in their movements.
The children have been very busy in the water play, using different equipment to wash the cars and the dollies, and using the channels and jugs to transport the water between the trays. Peppa Pig has had fun in the water, where we made a splash park for them to play in, and we have used a variety of different people and animals in the boats, helping to rescue them when they fell out!
The children have spent time on their different types of construction, from lego to octons to popoids, we also have new connecting light up bricks that have been very popular and we have made different structures in the garden with the giant polygons, this enables the children to share resources and work together under their own instructions.
