Week beginning 13th November 2023

This week we have continued our Christmas preparations, the children have decorated the Christmas Trees with baubles and tinsel, and have been making paper decorations to take home. We also made some salt dough, and cut it out in festive shapes to decorate our tree once they are painted and glittered!.

The children have been really engaged with the wet sand, enjoying the malleable texture and making shapes and marks using different tools and discussing with their peers what they are going to create and how they are doing it.

We have been practicing our hand eye coordination with our nuts and bolts, the keys and locks, lots of new puzzles that were kindly donated, and lots of beautiful mark making in paint, this encouraged the children to use lovely mathematical language, comparing and sorting by size, shape and number.

We also really enjoyed our small world activites, such as the farm, Happyland, Peppa Pig and the castle, this enables the children to act out their real world experiences, share resources and engage in a theme together with their peers, using lots of beautiful language in the activites.
