This week we have had lots of fun making pin people of ourselves, this really engaged the children, they were able to identify and describe their own facial features, what clothes they like to wear, and offer suggestions about their peers creations! This encourages a sense of self and builds confidence to talk about themselves.
We have been playing with lots of small world activities, with the farm, Happyland, Peppa Pig, Dinosaurs, pirates, and the train track. The children helped each other to put the track together, and adjust it when they needed to.This encourages hand eye coordination, working together and enables the children to relay with lots of lovely expressive words what they want to do next.
The children really liked creating with the soft play, we made different towers and structures, and then made a footpath to walk across. We used different shape activities, with the sticky pops and the matching game which the children extended independently into a balancing activity, which the children had lots of Giggles when their towers fell down!
we have enjoyed the garden despite the wind, making lots of music on our new music wall, with a variety of different equipment, from spoons to brushes, with lots of dancing to accompany the sounds. The children have all accessed the lock and bolt wall, trying really hard to turn, pull, push, lock and unlock the different items.
