This week we have been rehoming our stick insects as they are getting too big for their habitat, so we have scourced more greenery and sticks for their new home, and "Big Fella" is in the process of laying an egg, which has really engaged the children, who are checking regularly to see whether it has hatched!
We have also been observing our seeds, and the children are helping to replant them as they outgrow their pots, both these activities encourage care for the living world and lots of conversations about growth, decay and changes in the environment.
We have spent time playing with our small world, with Peppa pig, the farm, the zoo and the dinosaurs, encouraging lots of lovely turn taking and very imaginative play, this enables the children to act out their play with characters with their peers.
The children have taken home their Coronation crowns, which they decorated beautifully, in preparation for the big day on Saturday. Hope you have a lovely bank holiday weekend!
