We have had a very busy fortnight at Pre School, our themes have been people who help us, vehicles and dinosaurs!
We had a doctors in the home corner, this enabled the children to show their caring nature, tending to their peers and dollies when they were poorly, and sharing their experiences of being unwell or going to the doctors, and comparing their own scrapes and scars!!
We have had lots of diggers and trucks in the sand, making marks with the tyres and building mountains for our dinosaurs, we also used the cars to drive through the paint to make different types of marks on the table. We made a giant train track, a giant raceway out of the Toot Toot, and the older children used the large wooden bricks and ramps to make a giant raceway outside.
The children have made dinosaur fossils from clay, they chose their dinosaur and then decorated them with paint. We had a painty footprint activity, where the children used a variety of different sized dinosaurs to create different types of footprints by stamping them through the paint, this was very noisy and lots of fun!
On Monday, we had a special visitor, Phil from Jaws and Claws, who brought some of his friends to show the children. We saw a giant snail, a giant cockroach, a bearded dragon, a millipede, a corn snake, a giant bullfrog and a gecko, the children were very brave and either held or stroked the different animals.
We are on half term next week, have a lovely break and we will return to Pre School Monday 3rd June.
