This week we have begun to paint our "Supertato" cave, the children were really engaged mixing the colours and extended their decorating with lots of glitter, and are really looking forward to making Evil Pea and the gang next week.
We have continued to refill our planting area, we reused our seeds we collected last autumn to plant and are replanting our seedlings that have outgrown their pots, we have also have given the children a sunflower each to take home to see which can grow the tallest.
the children have continued their interest in the stick insects, that are growing so much, we have rehomed them in a bigger terranium, which the children helped to gather their privet and bramble to eat, and branches to climb on.
We have been engaged in lots of small world activities, from Peppa Pig, happyland and tiny people, cars and garages, the zoo and the farm, this encourages lots of lovely chatter and role play games.
We have done lots of small scale construction with coloured bricks, this enables colour matching and colour recognition, and identifying different shapes and sizes, with lots of lovely mathematical language.
