Week beginning 25th March 2024

We have been having so much fun at pre school, now the weather is better, we have been going over to the park, the children particularly enjoyed the log swing and the roundabout, negotiating between themselves to take turns to push or to sit on the equipment. We have been using our climbing frame and asking the children how they want the different parts put together, we also have some new garden equipment, which the children have been learning to use, they really like the bouncers and the new tiger and crocodile stilts, these activities encourage physical coordination, and lots of turn taking!

We have had lots of maths activities out, with a variety of small and large construction, and used the pipe connectors to make numbers 0-10, the children were very engaged with this and were able to recognise the numbers in and out of sequence, then identify and make the numbers that were missing in the number line. We used the gem blocks to play matching games and stacked them in rows to make dominoes, this encouraged lots of hand eye coordination to not knock them over until the line was complete and ready to topple!

The children have been really engaged with our sensory toys, we have a new addition of light up poles, which enables the children to stack and connect the light up bricks and crosses together into towers and channels, and enabled them to work together to accomplish their construction as a group..

The children enjoyed making Mothers Day cards for their loved ones using their handprints as flowers, and we also made Easter hats which they decorated with lots of lovely pretties.

Our last day of term is Wednesday 27th March, we return to Pre School on Monday 15th April, hope you all have a lovely Easter Holiday!
