This week we have begun our growing garden. We have sorted out our planting area, and have begun to plant our seeds. The children have been very enthusiastic, discussing what we should grow for Woody the rabbit, lots of suggestions about what our seeds need to grow, and using a variety of tools to begin the gardening.
We have been observing our stick insects, who have been extending their family, we now have nine from the original six, and the children really enjoy participating in head count day, and trying to find "Big Fella!", and the skins they have shed in their growing process. This has encouraged lots of chatter about growth and change, and care for other creatures in our world.
We have done lots of Easter craft this week, from pictures and painting of eggs, chicks and bunnies, to Easter bonnets decorated by the children.
The children have been really engaged with the giant polygons, we made several houses, a castle, a boat, and lots of tunnels, the children were very excited to help build their ideas and worked together really well to identify the right shapes and work cooperatively, lovely to see.
We begin our Easter holidays on Monday, for two weeks and are looking forward to the children returning on Monday 17th April, Happy Easter!
