This week we have had lots of imaginary play, from our fairy wonderland to our Three little pigs, we have also been making lots of cakes and biscuits with our playdough and have really enjoyed sharing our creations, this engaged the children with lots of descriptive language and lots of lovely turn taking with resources.
We have had lots of fun on the farm, matching the animals with similar features and attempting to copy the sounds they make. the children named their favorite animals and were able to relay to adults the types of food they eat and where they like to live. We also spent time with the Peppa Pig, which engaged the children and we had lots of conversations about what we like to play with at the park, and some of the children loved flinging Peppa and friends with the seesaw!!
We had a special guest this week, we had a sports coach come to pre school and set up various activities on the field, and we went out in small groups, with the children engaged in the shark island, feeding the hippos and the volcano island, where they had to knock down (or stand up) the cones that were volcanoes!! The children behaved beautifully, with very good listening and following of instruction!
