Welcome back! We have said goodbye to our friends going to school and have said a big hello to our new friends that have joined us this term.
We have enjoyed the warm weather in the garden, with a variety of water play, washing babies, boats and people, pouring with jugs and funnels. This helps with hand eye coordination and encourages good turn taking and negotiating between peers.
We have made mountains and volcanoes in the sand for the animals and dinosaurs, using different sizes of digger, this encourages mathematical language and comparison of sizes.
We have some new resources, the children spent time at the new lego table, and we had lots of fun with the new playmobile police set, a skatepark and a mermaid underwater playset.
The children were really engaged with the Potato Head people, this encouraged chatter about our different facial features, what colour our eyes are and where the corresponding parts of our faces go, or possibly don't, which the children found very funny to put the pieces in the wrong places too!.
