We hope everyone had a great summer break, we return to Pre School with a big welcome back to our old friends and a big hello to some new friends. We have had such a busy start to the term, we have had lots of fun with a variety of vehicles, indoors and outside, in the sand and driving in the water, adding passengers and towing items as well!
We have gone back to do a group snack, to encourage healthy choices and to encourage the children to try new food items together as a group, the children have enjoyed helping to choose and cut the different fruit and vegetables and this week we are having cheese and biscuits, so the children can spread butter onto their crackers should they choose, this also encourages hand eye coordination and gives them the option to be involved with making snack and to communicate what they like and dislike.
we have enjoyed the good weather in the garden, using the bikes and seesaw, we have had lots of fun on the climbing equipment and have been rolling the hula hoops to see how far they go! This encourages a variety of movement and enables the children to engage in a bit of risky play.
We have used different types of bricks to construct, from a lego zoo, to tall towers with the light up bricks and gem bricks. We have been matching shapes in our environment and identifying shapes and objects in our jigsaw puzzles and block games. The children have incorporated small world people and animals into their creations, making houses and structures in their imaginative play.
