This week we have explored the arts and crafts area by choosing our own resources to create pictures. There has been sticking, gluing as well as using crayons to create our own pictures. This area has different coloured paper as well as different sizes too. The children can choose what they’d like, set it out on the table then create their own masterpiece.
In the garden we have been working together to build houses out of wood. We used long pieces to create height in the house and lots of smaller pieces for the length of the house. The children were all keen to get involved to see the end result.
We used the magnetic shapes to create what our own houses look like but on a smaller scale. We spoke about the rooms we have in our houses and what colours our bedrooms are.
We had some new books arrive this week which the children have taken a big interest in. As well as reading them at group time, the children have taken turns to read them to each other. Your child also may have taken one of these books home to read of a night time… enjoy!
Towards the end of the week, we have been planting some seeds to grow in our greenhouse. So far, we have planted carrots and some herbs for the children to explore and use their senses once they have grown. We would really appreciate any seeds you may have lying around at home for us to pot and grow at pre-school.
