Welcome back to the Summer term.
We have started the week off with planting sunflower seeds. Our aim is to start growing them at pre-school and then send them home to be planted in the garden. We will then see whose can grow their flower the tallest! This has been successful in previous years and look forward to seeing photos via Tapestry once they start growing in children’s gardens.
We have been spending lots of time outside exploring our environment. The grass on the field had been cut this week so we decided to make a grass tray to explore the grass. We looked at the colour and feel of the grass. Some children threw the grass into the air and watched it blow off in the direction that the wind was blowing.
We have used resources to practice our scissor skills and then sticking them onto paper to create a collage. The children looked closely at the shapes they cut out and stuck to the paper. The children used language of shapes such as circle, square, triangle and heart.
We have a new wooden board that has been fitted to the wall that has numbers 1 to 9 on. The children have been holding the wooden pencil and tracing the numbers ready to then practice on paper next week.
We have now started our new ‘Stay and Play’ group on a Friday afternoon from 1-2:30pm. If you would like to come next week, please call 07930 963638 to book a space 😊
Have a lovely weekend and we look forward to seeing everybody next week.
