This week we have been very busy! We have been practising our focus time by using the coloured pens to colour in squares to see who could last the longest. The children enjoyed choosing their own colours for each square.
We were donated some new toys from a lovely lady in the village. This included lots of pirate role play. The children were very keen to get started with using the new toys. We set up several treasure hunts and the children explored the garden to find the hidden treasure. We also used the material and costumes to dress up as pirates, and walked the plank!.
Group activities have been extremely popular with all children wanting to join in. We have been working in small groups to play games such as the dear zoo game. The children have carefully listened to the story and then found the right cards to match with what is on their boards.
Another group activity the children have been particularly engaged in is the musical instruments. We have all had a chance to choose a musical instrument and chosen songs to sing and play them to. We spoke about how the musical instruments each make different noises and how we could make our own!
Outside we have been building our own houses out of foam bricks! The children worked together to ensure we took turns, and everybody was able to fit in the house. We then were able to create a home for our toy frogs. We added water into a tuff tray and added lily pads for the frogs to jump on, and we used a fountain in the water which the children found very interesting. The children even managed to find some pretty coloured flowers to add to their home to make it look pretty.
Next Monday (21st June 2021), we have the photographer attending. If you need more information about this, please speak to a member of our team.
Have a great weekend everyone! We look forward to seeing you next week.
