This week has been fun filled; activities have included crafts to create pictures to go on our new display board. Some pictures have been painted, glued, or drawn. We have left the choice down to the children and all have been very pleased with their creations.
We have been practicing our fine motor skills this week by using puzzles. The children were also very keen to look at stencils and how these can be used. On Wednesday afternoon, the adults and children sat outside in the sunshine and used a selection of pens, pencils and crayons to see what works best to create a picture using the stencils. The children decided as a group that crayons were most effective when using the stencils.
Later on in the week we came into Pre-School to find out some of the toys had been frozen! The children were very keen to explore and find out what was inside as well as use some tools to find out how we could break the ice to get the toys out. The children decided together that if they were to take the ice outside, the sun would melt it. We added some salt to see what would happen to the ice. The children appeared to have great fun exploring the ice and have used lots of language, explaining to each other and adults what the ice felt like in the process of it melting.
Next week we are having our outdoor flooring resurfaced! Please refer to the weekly email to find out a couple of changes we have put in place to enable this to happen.
We hope you all have a great weekend and we look forward to seeing you all again next week 🙂
