Welcome back everybody, what a fabulous week we’ve had! We hope everyone enjoyed their half term and had a choctastic easter! Thank you to all the parents that took time to upload pictures/activities onto tapestry during the break. We are so happy to be back into the swing of routine and of course having lots of fun. We want to give a warm welcome to all our new starters who have joined our pre-school this term, it’s great to see so many new faces and to watch all the children adapt and make new friendships.
As the weather has been so kind to us, we have spent a great deal of time in our garden. Using sand and water in our mud kitchen, the children have expanded their imaginations creating ‘ice-cream’ and ‘tea’ using different tools to scoop and pour. The children have also used paintbrushes with water to ‘decorate’ our fences, we have discussed how the water will disappear after a short time of being exposed to the sun. Our variety of giant bricks have been popular this week, used to build giant towers and balance beams, the children have worked together sharing the resources nicely.
After a couple of weeks away from the setting, we have observed how our plants have grown in the short space of time and the children have helped us give them all a good watering to help them grown even more. We have enjoyed getting super messy in the garden we created a big table full of different paints, the children used the paintbrushes to create their pictures, paint their hands to create handprints on their page.
Of course, even with sun cream and sun hats on we have been spending some time inside especially when the suns at its hottest! With exciting new games to play we have had lots of fun, exploring the famous Hungry Hippos game, Pop-up Pirate and Plate pile up. The children have really enjoyed these adult-led activities alongside their own child-led activities such as magnetic tile fun, creating different scenes with our felt boards, bringing their imagination to life on paper with paints, pens and so much more!
Overall, a wonderful first week back and we can’t wait to see what next week has to offer! We wish you all a lovely weekend.
