This week we have been carrying on with our under the sea display board. We have been making divers to go on the board. The children have each decorated their diver with paint. We have also linked our board to a fishing game. One of our families enjoys fishing so we put the wooden fish into the sensory table and the children used magnetic fishing rods to catch the fish.
We have been practicing our hand-eye coordination with the tap tac this week. The children have used different shapes to create buildings on the cork boards. They tapped the pin into the wood to attach them to the cork board. Shapes have been recognised, then been drawn on our chalk mat.
In the garden we have been planting herbs. The adults and children spoke about how long it will take for them to grow and what we need to do to encourage them to grow. The children said we need to water them, the adult said about putting them in an area of the garden where to sun comes over to, to help encourage the growth of the seeds.
Inside, the children discovered a rainbow from the reflection of the sun outside that was shining onto a mirror inside of Pre-School. The children each had a go of putting the rainbow in their hands and looking at where the reflection was coming from.
On Friday we had the soft play out with dinosaurs , the children made caves and other outbuildings for them to hide in. Children used lots of speech in their play, pretending the dinosaurs were knocking on the door.
We hope you have a great weekend and look forward to seeing you all again next week! 😊
