This week we have spent a lot of time in the garden. The children spoke about the weather and how cold it was. We decided to put some coloured water into the tuff spots and in buckets. We put some animals into the water and told the children to wait until the next day. The next day the children were extremely excited to come in and see what had happened. The water had frozen and the animals were stuck! The children looked around for resources such as metal spoons that they could use to break the ice to rescue the animals.
We have had a lot of rain during the nights this week, it created a large puddle beside pre-school! We added ducks and bubble bath to the water and the children had a splash! They had so much fun running together, and we spoke about where the deepest end was and how we knew it was the deepest end and where the shallow end was.
We did a group session of children’s Zumba. It was very fast paced, and the children were able to follow instructions and movements. The children had a brilliant time. We then stretched after the session.
We played the very hungry caterpillar game brown bear, brown bear game in small groups this encouraged listening skills as well as communication and language. The children listened to the story and were able to recognise the cards that matched their story cards.
What a great week! We look forward to seeing you all again next week. Have a brilliant weekend!
