Firstly, we would like to thank everyone of you for your generous donations for our growing garden, this week the children have been helping with planting flowers vegetable seeds, watering them and creating an area for them to all be on display. We are so excited to watch everything grow through the springtime, with the nice weather approaching we have spent even more time outside and the children really enjoy being able to use the outdoor equipment as well as have a good run around.
Yesterday was of course World Book Day, everyone made an amazing effort dressing up, everyone looked amazing! We asked all the children to bring in their favourite book and throughout the whole day we managed to read them all. During the week we've seen lots of the children get together and 'read' each other books, it's great to see them use their imagination to create their stories. Here at Langham Preschool as most of you know one of our favourite stories is 'we're going on a bear hunt', this week we introduced a bear hunt yoga lesson. The children turned their bodies into trees through the forest, they swam through the river, they tip toed through the cave and so much more. It was wonderful to see all the children get involved.
Our artwork has seen us use different resources to create marks such as our toy car wheels! The children enjoyed getting messy with this one, we started off placing the cars on the paper and steering them around the page, we then extended it and let the children paint the table with the cars then placing paper on top to print the marks onto the page. The children had so much fun with this activity as they all enjoy playing with the cars! I wonder what new resource we could create art with next week. We also got given a cardboard house from one of our parents this week, the children have not only enjoyed exploring the inside of it they have also been creative in colouring the outside of it with crayons and pencils!
