We have continued to observe our stick insects, they grow so much in just a week! We’ve also picked some fresh bramble for them to munch on too! We have 4 new fish friends, which we are going to name, the children were very happy to feed them and watch them swimming around!
We are continuing our Christmas craft for our indoor display as well as making homemade Christmas decorations with a variety of materials and salt dough for the children to take home. At the beginning of the week, we decorated our tree with the children’s help to place the baubles on it and every day we have been rehearsing for our Christmas nativity which takes place on 14th December at 10am. The children are very excited, in full Christmas spirit and have been discussing what they would like from Father Christmas.
We have had lots of construction and imaginary play this week, we incorporated maths into our games and had bricks to weigh and count. On our colourful number mat we used math cubes to match the right amount against the identified number on the mat! We’ve used our giant wooden blocks to make ramps and paths for our mobilo cars to drive on and made a variety of marks in the sand with different vehicles.
We did an attention activity with the Bear Hunt book, where the children used cards to identify different parts of the story. The children sat beautifully throughout this using excellent attention and listening skills as well as being interactive and getting involved in making different sounds throughout the story. Alongside this, some of the older children done some tricky tracing this week, focusing on their tripod grip and concentration!
Please don’t forget the children will be having their Christmas roast dinner next week, on Wednesday 7th December. All children are invited if it is not their usual day, please drop them off at 11am and pick them up at 1pm, if they usually finish at 11.45, please pick them up at 1pm!
We hope you all have a wonderful weekend, lets welcome more festive fun next week!
