This week we’ve really been getting into the Christmas spirit. At the beginning of the week, we experienced some extremely cold weather and the children found ice in the garden. We talked about what the cycle of ice is and the texture and feeling of it. The children decided to do an experiment and leave the ice in the sun where they could watch the process of it melting back to water. This then gave us the idea to freeze the water for our winter wonderland ice rink turf tray.
For Christmas arts and crafts this week, we have used resources to create cards and baubles that the children will be able to bring home at the end of term. We have also been practising for our Christmas sing along to put onto Tapestry for our families to see. We have all enjoyed singing and dancing along to those cheesy Christmas songs.
We have been putting our new kitchen equipment to good use by doing lots of baking and this week we have made some gingerbread men and some Christmas themed cupcakes. We explored using an electric whisk as well as weighing out the ingredients to create our mix. We used rolling pins, cutters, and decorations to complete the creations.
Next week we will continue with Christmas themed activities. Have a lovely weekend everybody 😊
