This week we got a new resource, a sensory mood table, this encouraged the children to explore colours and how they change, and to observe the changes of colour on the table and how that changes the coloured looking discs. The children also really enjoyed decorating the box that it came in, and they spent a long time in their box den! We also had a delivery of counting fish for our sensory table, the children really enjoyed counting the dots on the fish and comparing who had more or less dots!
We have continued the phase one of the jolly phonics, S,A, T, P, I and N, which the lions have learnt the songs and the actions, and we have continued with the shoes and coat challenge, which is helping to give the children additional independence
On Wednesday we made playdough spiders, this encouraged the children to count the legs, and notice differences and similarities between their creations!
The children also had lots of fun with the sand in the mud kitchen, they made lots of food, and really loved to transport the sand across the garden in a variety of buckets and pots, and mixed the sand with the conkers!
We also got a new box of small piece Lego, which enables the children to use small motor skills and encourages them to think about what they want to build and how they can achieve their creations.
On Friday we painted poppies, we discussed with the children if they have seen people wearing them, or selling them in the shops, and we chatted about why people wear them.
We hope you all have a fantastic weekend and look forward to seeing you next week! 🙂
