This week we have continued with our christmas festivities! We have made christmas tree toppers, decorations to hang on the christmas tree and even christmas pudding decorations. The children have been listening to christmas songs whilst doing activites which they have really enjoyed.
The children have also been making their own Christmas themed decorations using the paper, pens and scissors. This encouraged children to speak about Christmas and decorating their tree at home. We have also had our Christmas card order back so please see a member of staff if you have not been given them already.
Other activities the children participated in this week were football in the garden and making silly soup out of sand and hay. The children got creative with this and spoke about the textures they could feel from the ingredients in their soup. We also had a very kind donation of The Very Hungry Caterpillar book and this enabled the children to play our Hungry Caterpillar game, where the children had to match the correct food and amount as the caterpillar ate them in the story, as it was being read out by an adult. This encouraged children's concentration and matching shapes and recalling the story.
On Friday we also got to play in the snow! It was so much fun making footprints in the snow and we also made snow angels. This also encouraged the children to talk about the different types of weather and how it was very cold with the snow about.
