The past two weeks have been extremely busy at Pre-School!
We had a visit from Jaws and Claws! They came with a big selection of animals, for us to look at and touch. First, they showed us a skink. The children described him as scaly and shiny. Phil at Jaws and Claws then showed us three giant African land snails, a giant rabbit, a frog, a cockroach, and a python. The children were all very brave. They each looked at the animals and could touch them if they wished.
On Friday we had our annual beach day at Walton-on-the-Naze! We would like to thank everybody who came along and had fun with us all. We made sandcastles, splashed in the sea, ate picnic food, and collected some stones, seaweed, and shells to bring back to pre-school for us to explore!
This week we have made pizzas. We have been talking about what vegetables we like and have also tried some new ones. The colours of the vegetables have helped some children try some new tastes. The children were keen to help prepare them by chopping all the toppings up. Once created, the children then agreed that the pizzas needed to go into the oven to cook. Once cooked, they were plated up to take home to enjoy!
On Wednesday we were preparing for England’s semi-final game! We danced and sang to ‘It’s coming home’ as well as made flags to wave in the air whilst dancing around. The children really enjoyed this activity and were keen to share what we had done in our day to parents when they arrived.
Outside we have collected some leaves, cleaned them, and then had a go at blowing bubbles through the leaves. This was a success and the children each took a turn to have a go.
What a fantastic few weeks we’ve had. Next week is our last week at Pre-School before the six weeks holidays. I wonder what we’ll we getting up to in our last week? 😊
