Week commencing 5th September 2022 - Our week at Pre-school

Welcome back to all our preschoolers and a huge welcome to our new friends! Autumn term 2022 has well and truly begun, it has been so nice to see everyone settle back in so smoothly and greet their peers which they have obviously missed over the last 6 weeks. We hope everyone had a wonderful summer break and we wish all our leavers the very best in their next chapter of school life, we hope they all had the best first week at primary school.

Focusing on the children all settling in well has been our main priority this week, of course we have squeezed in lots of fun activities for everyone to do! With homemade playdough the children can dive into their creative imagination bringing pretend foods to life, making a variety of shapes, and completing 'missing parts' on stencil pictures that we have available.

Alongside this, we have been busy in the art corner and of course making lots and lots of mess! We've used a variety of materials to cut and stick onto our paper, this gave us lots of opportunities to discuss textures and colours. We have also used different resources to transfer paint onto paper including pipettes and chopsticks to scribe, this is great for their fine motor skills as well as our hand-eye coordination. Extending their fine motor movement further, we explored tap a shape using a variety of wooden shapes, small pins, and mini wooden hammers to create our artwork onto cork boards!

Finally, we have had many new resources delivered this week for us to begin to explore including new babies, new dolls, new diggers/tractors and much more. We are all excited to dive into the phonics world with the children and explore new ways of learning our alphabet!

We hope you all have a wonderful and well rested weekend, ready for a fun packed week next week!
