This week we have continued to get into the festive spirit! We’re all so excited for our Christmas Meal next week and breaking up for the festive holidays. We’ve been crafty and created some Christmas wreaths which included painting, gluing, and carefully placing decorations on top as well as stockings and Christmas trees, alongside baking our freshly homemade mince pies. The children have had wonderful concentration and imagination during these activities making their creations entirely their own!
We’ve had some amazing turf tray layouts for us this week including a ‘Polar express’ made with our usual train tracks with some added spray snow, cotton wool balls and rice. Our ‘hot chocolate station’ consisted of flour, hot chocolate powder, glitter, coco pops and colourful pompoms so the children could spoon in their own ingredients into a cup to make their pretend hot chocolates.
As well as our Christmas activities the children have been engaging with our usual resources too. We created a ‘Dino City’ out of our new sensory bricks, the children have used their knowledge to sort our toys into the correct coloured bowls, and we have explored playing with lemon scented playdoh! As the weather has been extremely cold lately, we have missed out on water play, so we decided to bring it indoors this week, the children have been using their hand to eye coordination to pour water into jugs, bowls, cups and funnels.
This week has been packed full of fun and we can not wait to have even more fun next week, we hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
