This week we have had new friends start pre school, our older children have been very kind and helpful to their peers, and the new children have explored the setting confidently. They have settled in really well and are happy to come to pre school and play.
We have had lots of fun in the water, with boats, sea creatures, frogs and lily pads with the fountain, pouring with jugs and painting the fence, this encouraged turn taking and communicating needs and wants to others. We have a new self selection area for craft, this has all of the resources to allow the children to independently make and create with lots of items and enables them to put items away again.
We have spent time mark making with chalks in the garden, painting and using different pens on the easels, which is encouraging the children to use their hand eye coordination and to be able to relay to others what they are creating.
We have had lots of fun with a variety of small world, happy land, cars and garages, train track and the farm, and the zoo went for a swim in the water tray!!
We have made lots of tea and cake in our mud kitchen and home corner, and we have constructed a zoo out of Lego, spaceships out of mobilo and a car garage with the large wooden construction, encouraging imaginative play and communicating with peers. We have really enjoyed the different sounds of the musical instruments, which enables the children to explore sounds and how they can change. Overall, a fantastic first week back with everybody!

We set out a range of activities that include something for everybody. We have sensory water mats for babies to playdough for those children that need to improve their fine motor skills.
